Terms & Conditions

Thank you for visiting. This summary of my full Ts & Cs explains how I work, what to expect from sessions, and your rights and responsibilities as a client.

How We Work Together

I offer professional counselling and somatic balance massage. I also offer wellbeing visits for clients who may not be able to travel for treatment. Sessions are based on individual needs.

I work holistically, meaning mind and body are seen as one integrated system. In counselling, I may, where appropriate and at your pace, include body awareness and, where agreed, therapeutic touch. Touch is never required and is always discussed with you beforehand. You can decline or withdraw consent at any time, and counselling can continue without physical contact.

Massage is a touch-based therapy and is offered as a standalone session. My somatic balance approach is polyvagal-informed, combining nervous-system awareness with therapeutic touch. Depending on your needs, massage may include gentle, therapeutic or deeper tissue techniques to support relaxation and ease stress, tension or muscular discomfort. Before your first massage session, you will be asked to complete a brief health consultation so the session can be planned safely and comfortably.

I do not provide medical treatment, diagnosis or medical advice. All sessions are tailored to your needs following consultation.

Confidentiality & Privacy

In accordance with professional ethical standards, everything discussed in our sessions is confidential, with the following exceptions:

  • Where legally required, I will share relevant information with the appropriate authorities, including in relation to terrorist activity, certain money laundering offences, female genital mutilation involving a minor, or by court order.
  • If I judge there to be a serious risk of harm to you or to others, or where there are safeguarding concerns relating to a child or vulnerable adult, I may need to share relevant information with appropriate services to reduce risk.
  • I attend ongoing professional supervision and skills development to ensure safe and ethical practice. Client information is anonymised wherever possible, and I share only what is necessary for professional guidance.

Wherever possible, any need to break confidentiality would be discussed with you first, and only the information necessary for the relevant purpose would be disclosed.

Boundaries & Communication

This service is not a crisis service. In emergencies, please contact your GP, NHS 111, 999, or an appropriate crisis service.

Communication between sessions is generally limited to practical matters, such as scheduling.

You or I can end sessions at any time, ideally after a short discussion. Referrals may be suggested where appropriate.

Online Sessions

If we meet online, please make sure you have a private, safe space and a stable internet connection. It is advised that you provide emergency contact details for your safety.

Your Role

Therapy is a collaborative process. You are encouraged to share relevant information about your mental and physical health, participate actively, and let me know if you experience any discomfort or distress during sessions.

Consent

By booking or attending a session, you confirm that you have read and understood the full Terms & Conditions and agree to them. The full Terms & Conditions are provided in your online intake form, which will be emailed to you for completion before your first session.
